This study also includes the spiritual dimensions of the grieving process. Method : The participants were interviewed based on a questionnaire exploring the various aspects of the grief process with the spiritual dimension of the grief process added. The interview was open-ended with the participants relating their experiences concerning the loss of their loved one. The interviews were audiotaped and then transcribed. Using a coding method recommended by Boyatzis, the data was coded and analyzed. Similarities and differences were noted. Major Findings : While the process itself is quite similar, each individual experiences grief in a unique way. Age makes a difference in reacting to grief. All generations experienced physical, emotional, behavioral, cognitive and spiritual aspects of the grief process. The generation most involved in the daily caregiving of the deceased, overall were the most verbal in relating their story of the grief process.
