Beliefs about medication and intimate partner violence (IPV) have independently been associated with low adherence to treatment. This cross sectional, secondary data analysis was designed to determine if IPV or beliefs about medication accounted for more variance in adherence to HIV/AIDS treatment in a sample of ethnic minority women (N=246). Results showed that IPV was negatively related to adherence. Additionally, IPV and beliefs about medication were non-significant as predicators of adherence.
