Method : Ten schools were randomly selected to participate in the study including five schools with students of high socio-economic status (SES), and five with students from a lower SES. This research involved general education third grade teachers of the ten schools. The participants were asked to complete the Teacher Efficacy Scale Survey regarding perceptions of their self-efficacy and to respond to two demographic questions in regards of their ethnicity and years of experience. The District School Profiles for the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 school years for Miami-Dade County (Florida) Public Schools and, records of all third-grade students with learning disabilities from the ten schools were obtained for this study. FCAT scores were provided by the Miami-Dade County Schools Department of Statistics and were totally anonymous. A third party (e.g. Testing Coordinator or Assistant Principal), and who had access to students\u2019 FCAT scores, scored the Teacher Efficacy Scale Survey of each teacher participating in the study and linked them to the students\u2019 FCAT scores in reading and math. Total anonymity was maintained as no names of teachers or students were attached to the data. Major Findings : A t-test for independent sample was used to calculate the difference in the mean scores of each group. An alpha level of .05 determined the level of significance. The results of this study which was designed to demonstrate teacher self-efficacy and years of experience on academic performance as measured by FCAT scores indicated the following results. Teacher\u2019s self-efficacy had no effect on FCAT reading scores of third grade students with learning disabilities. Teacher\u2019s self-efficacy had no effect on FCAT math scores of third grade students with learning disabilities. Teacher\u2019s self-efficacy of beginning teachers had no effect on FCAT reading scores of third grade students with learning disabilities. Teacher\u2019s self-efficacy of beginning teachers had a positive effect on FCAT math scores of third grade students with learning disabilities. Teacher\u2019s self-efficacy of experienced teachers had no effect on FCAT reading scores of third grade students with learning disabilities.
