Participants completed an anonymous on-line survey consisting of measures assessing working mothers\u2019 parental alliance with their spouse as well as their social adjustment in work, family and community roles. The dependent variables were three measures of the degree of social adjustment at work, in the community, and in the family. The independent variable consisted of the strength of the parenting alliance. The confounding variables depended on the area of social adjustment and included age, level of employment demand, time since birth, and first\u2014time mother status. Method : The study was a correlational study using quantitative methods of investigation. A sample of 135 working mothers were recruited through email distribution lists and a website.
