TOP combines classroom-based education and life skills training with community service. In this secondary data analysis, 36 students who participated in TOP throughout one school year were compared to 36 matched comparison students. A quasi experimental cross-sectional design was used to examine program outcomes. Four chi square tests were conducted in order to examine the hypothesized association between group participation (e.g. TOP intervention versus comparison), teen parenthood status, condom use, and the endorsement of sex-related resistance skills. Five Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) tests were conducted in order to test the hypothesized group differences in: 1) sex-related beliefs and attitudes and 2) the ego strength of competence, identity conflict resolution, and personal expressiveness.
