There are four probable theories that attempt to answer this complex question. The first is the belief that the world cannot exist without evil and injustice, therefore poverty is just part of the mold that we must tolerate. Here I will examine the theodicy of Karl Barth. The second is the reasoning that Jesus was bom out of poverty and throughout his ministry he favored the poor, thus the sufferings of the poor should not be taken as negative, but as a blessing. For support. I will present insight from John Gillman and Biblical Scripture. The third is that with the fall of man came suffering, poverty7, and injustices. This theory will be supported by the writings and commentaries of St. Augustine. The final theory shifts the responsibility from God. the Creator to humanity, the creation. It states that the plagues of poverty are a human construction, not willed by God: therefore it is not in God\u0027s hands but in the hands of humankind. I will tie the concept of free will and further develop it with conclusions from liberation theology. The findings reveal that poverty7 is not willed by God. but a result from humanity\u0027s free choice.
