The model chosen for the study is\nnamed for the five steps it represents: Focus, Investigate, Note, Develop, and Score\n(F.I.N.D.S.). The study was conducted during the fall semester of 2007 and involved a\nconvenience sample of students enrolled in a general psychology course at a community\ncollege. Quantitative data analysis indicated that there was no significant difference in the\ngain made in critical thinking skills of those students who used the F.I.N.D.S. model\nwhen compared to those students who did not use F.I.N.D.S. Data analyses also\nindicated that there was not a significant relationship between gains in critical thinking\nand student grade point averages.
